The premise
Cannabis isn’t the subject. It’s the condition of the conversation.
There’s a huge audience of smart, creative adults who love film and have an easy relationship with cannabis. Not the stoner cliché. People who use it the way others pour a glass of wine: to decompress, to open up, to think a little differently.
This show is for them. It isn’t about the industry or the product. It’s about the life. Cannabis takes the performance out of the room, and the thing nobody would say sober turns out to be the truest thing said all night.
The dynamic
Two hosts. One guest.
One conversation that goes wherever it goes.
The co-host
Bud tender. Actress. Comedian.
She makes a guest feel like they’re at a kitchen table, not on a panel. Present, funny, with her own point of view, and when she goes off on something it’s often the best moment of the episode.
Not host and sidekick. Two fully formed voices, and the guest is always talking to both.
The ritual
Every episode. Same rhythm.

The roll
The cold open. The bud tender is already picking and rolling the night’s strain while the host is already talking. We’re in motion before anyone is introduced.

The why
Her quick reason for the pick, chosen to suit the guest, the film and where the talk is likely to go. A little real cannabis know-how. Never a lecture.

The pass
A puff, and pass to the left. It’s the beat the audience comes back for.
The space
A video store with a couch in it.
Shelves of films, warm practical light, somewhere to roll. Not a living room pretending to be a set: a specific place with a point of view about film culture. Every title on those shelves is a conversation waiting to happen.
The films
We don’t chase new releases. That road leads to yet another review show. We start with the movies everyone has already seen. A grip and a studio executive have both seen Goodfellas, but they don’t have the same relationship to it. That gap is where the conversation lives.
The film isn’t the topic. It’s the door everyone walks through together.
Season one
The people who actually made the thing.
Every film podcast talks to the names on the poster. Nobody hands the crew a microphone: the set dresser, the hair and makeup artist, the assistant, the day player. Their stories come with no PR agenda. They’re usually told around a tailgate or at the wrap party. We’re just putting a mic in that room.
