- Everything on this site and in our EPK belongs to Spread Media Studios or our partners.
- Press and industry can use EPK materials to cover, program or evaluate our work, with credit. Anything else needs our written permission.
- This site is for adults of legal age to use cannabis where they live. We don't sell cannabis, and nothing here is medical advice.
- Guest stories you send through the form are welcome, but aren't confidential. Please don't send scripts or show pitches.
- Ontario law applies.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use apply to puffingonpuffingwith.com and to the Puffing On. Puffing With. electronic press kit (EPK) and any other material you receive through it (together, the "Site"). The Site is operated by Spread Media Studios and its production banner RWS Films ("we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
2. Using the Site
You may browse the Site for your own information and for legitimate business with us. You agree not to:
- break, probe or overload the Site, or get around its security or spam protections;
- scrape, copy or harvest content or contact details by automated means;
- submit false information, or use the forms in someone else's name;
- use the Site to send spam or anything unlawful, harmful or infringing; or
- frame or mirror the Site, or suggest that we endorse you or your work.
3. Our content and trademarks
All content on the Site, including text, artwork, logos, icons, stills, video, scripts, loglines, and the design and arrangement of the Site, is owned by Spread Media Studios or our licensors and is protected by Canadian and international copyright and trademark law. Except as these terms allow, you may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, publicly display or create derivative works from it without our written permission.
PUFFING ON. PUFFING WITH., its logo, the tagline RANDOM CONVERSATION. SPECIFIC MARY JANE., episode titles, the leaf waveform artwork and the brands created for the show are trademarks of Spread Media Studios and RWS Films. Nothing on the Site grants you any right to use them except as described in section 4.
4. Using the EPK
When we send you our EPK, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use its materials (stills, key art, synopses, bios, credits and similar):
- for news reporting, reviews, interviews, criticism and editorial coverage of Spread Media Studios and our productions;
- for festival, market, screening and broadcast programming and promotion; and
- to evaluate a possible distribution, exhibition, financing or other business relationship with us.
When you use EPK materials:
- credit them as provided in the EPK (or "Courtesy of RWS Films / Spread Media Studios" if no credit is given);
- don't alter, crop in a misleading way, add to or combine them with other material in a way that changes their meaning;
- don't use them in advertising, merchandise or to suggest our endorsement of any product, person or cause;
- don't use them, or any part of them, to train or fine-tune artificial intelligence or machine-learning models; and
- respect any embargo, release date or "confidential" marking. Confidential or unreleased material (such as scripts, screeners, budgets or business plans) is shared for evaluation only and may not be shared, published or copied without our written permission.
Your EPK download link is personal to you. Please don't post or forward it. Colleagues can request their own at puffingonpuffingwith.com. We may withdraw the licence, or ask you to remove material, at any time.
5. Guest stories and unsolicited submissions
The form on this Site invites people who work in film and television production to tell us a story they might share as a guest. If you send one:
- keep it to your own experiences, and leave out anything you're bound to keep confidential (for example under a non-disclosure agreement) and other people's private details;
- you agree that it isn't confidential, that we have no obligation to read, reply to, book or pay for it, and that sending it doesn't create any agreement between us; and
- if we'd like you on the show, any appearance will be covered by a separate written guest release.
We don't accept unsolicited scripts, treatments, show formats, pitches, music or other creative material. If you send any anyway, the same terms apply, and you agree we're free to develop projects that may be similar to it, which we may already be developing independently.
6. Cannabis
This Site and the show are for adults who are of legal age to use cannabis where they live (19 in most of Canada, 18 in Alberta and 21 in Quebec). Puffing On. Puffing With. is a conversation show. We don't sell, supply or promote the sale of cannabis, and nothing on the Site or in the show is medical, legal or health advice. Any strains we mention are discussed for conversation and general education. Laws differ between provinces, states and countries; you're responsible for following the laws where you are. Never drive or operate machinery while impaired.
7. Links to other sites
The Site may link to sites we don't control, including our other productions' sites run under different terms. We aren't responsible for the content, policies or practices of other websites.
8. No warranties
The Site, the show and the EPK are provided "as is" and "as available". Release dates, cast, credits and other project information may change. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the Site will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors or harmful components.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Spread Media Studios and its partners, officers, employees and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or EPK. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to CAD $100. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Spread Media Studios harmless from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Site or EPK materials or your breach of these terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Toronto, Ontario, for any dispute relating to the Site, unless the law where you live gives you a right to bring a claim elsewhere.
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be on this page with its effective date. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver of it. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any written agreement we sign with you, are the entire agreement between us about the Site.
